February is my fifth-favorite of all the months, and it’s easy to see why: bundled-up overcoats, knitted caps and gloves, hot cocoa, and a commercialized holiday mass-marketed to make you feel acutely alone when you snuggle down under those covers, wondering if you should knock it off with the hot cocoa already! There are tons of blogs out there with ~such~ sUpEr cute ideas about how to share your love with your significant other without breaking the bank, and we here at “Begging My Mother” wanted to make sure that even the most pitiful and lonely of you out there (and we know you’re out there, if you’re reading this blog!!) had the chance to get in on the fun. Grab your glue gun, permanently rearrange your closet to create a dedicated arts and crafts workspace, and prepare to unleash the power of your creative spirit!
As always, sound off in the comments! We love to hear from you. Join us here on the blog next week, when we teach you how to make a garden terrarium out of a mason jar and those old sexy lace bras that are just gathering dust!

(In all earnestness, I don’t care that much about this holiday and I’m nowhere near this pathetic IRL, but I think we can all agree that the candy heart and greeting card industry has seriously jumped the shark).
I love this so much, I’m going to start drinking coffee just so I can follow your instructions to the letter. ( I really LOVE the coffee mug)
You’re right, the personal touches on the cards make all the difference! Re the 22 items that are over the top; only 21 made me want to gag, the fondue for two is considered a necessity in Switzerland.
Totally love the cookies idea with the heartfelt sentiments on the paper hearts. You forgot, “Miss me, sucka?!!!” and of course my favorite, “Eat your heart out.” ha ha
Great blog, as usual.
I like that ice cream soda thing. I have a bf but still..
Another blissfully hilarious post! Thanks for sharing your humor and creativity with us. Can’t stop laughing about the cookies.
Great post! AND OH MY – the vagina/clit cookies! hahaha what a great personal touch in deed!
I’m not terribly creative, so on the 14th I like to go to my local Burger King in a tuxedo and sit there for hours all by myself, drumming up pity from the staff.
The cookies made me giggled. Thanks for this post! I’ll be sure to try at least one on that dreaded night 🙂
You just made my February! See, being Russian, I have February associated only with Pasternak’s February poem:
February. Get ink, shed tears.
Write of it, sob your heart out, sing,
While torrential slush that roars
Burns in the blackness of the spring.
Go hire a buggy. For six grivnas,
Race through the noice of bells and wheels
To where the ink and all you grieving
Are muffled when the rainshower falls.
To where, like pears burnt black as charcoal,
A myriad rooks, plucked from the trees,
Fall down into the puddles, hurl
Dry sadness deep into the eyes.
Below, the wet black earth shows through,
With sudden cries the wind is pitted,
The more haphazard, the more true
The poetry that sobs its heart out.
So, living in Canada and observing all February’s “love” obsession is really strange to me. Thankfully, there are people like you with great sense of humour.
Thank you!
This is GOLD. Thanks for posting!!
Hilarious 😀 ! Like Penguin stuck in a tree Hilarious.
Those are some hysterical “shared history” cookies.
This is awesome. The pics are my favorite part. Excellent use of pink shred and vagina cookies.
Love this! I would absolutely do this with my Valentine’s Day, if I hadn’t already agreed to work an unpaid job because no one else is around…because it’s Valentine’s Day. Nevertheless, I will keep this in reserve for next year!
Vulva cookies win every time.
Love this so much! I get spectacularly tired of Valentine’s Day, and I’m pretty sure a DIY breakfast in bed, replete with a waffle iron on my night stand, is the perfect remedy. 🙂
Best. Post. Ever.
That is all.
