The Single Girl’s Guide to Christmas: NEW* FOR 2014!

* This post is not at all new for 2014. I’m reposting it from last year in an effort to shame myself into making something new for you guys NEXT Christmas, because I had really epic plans for my readers this year, and it just never happened. So I’m sharing this one again. Is that lazy? Yeah, it sure is. It’s also still VERY VERY TRUE. I’m literally housing microwave popcorn at this exact moment while getting my sticky grease-fingers all over the wrapping paper and the computer keys. (Says the grown-ass adult woman to strangers on the internet…)

  1. awesome post. If it were me, I would recycle it for the next 10 years.… saves on lists, saves time, saves money, blah blah and still the same result: peace on earth ❤

    Yep, works for me.

  2. Merry Christmas, Katherine. Thanks for being awesome and for making me smile, think, laugh and ask myself important questions this year. Best wishes to you and yours from me and mine, all the way from Australia. 🙂 ♥

  3. My favorite part is the last pic with the presents sitting in ikea bags. I just threw all my family’s presents in an ikea bag last night…so that I can throw it in the trunk of my car tomorrow and drive home later than planned….. and be asked annoying questions about my love life and career… Merry Christmas!

  4. Love this post. Hate-watching Love Actually is an annual tradition for me as well. Darn that little boy and his uplifting run through the airport! Gets me every…damn…time.
The artwork on your posts is really cool too. That naked chicken is delightful! Merry Christmas!

  5. Katherine, I just love your blog SO much. So, I think I love YOU so much, too. But I’m not a 20 something. I’m 72 and a half. But you always make me laugh. And you often make me cry. And you reassure me about there being like-minded people in the world. I’m sitting here at my PC instead of sticking stuff in bags – I am the “stocking hat and gloves” auntie to my mother’s local grand and great-grand children. My mum is 94 and I do all her shopping for her. At Christmas time I try to keep costs under $150 as I try to buy nice gifts for my baby sister, her husband, their three children and spouses/boyfriends, and their 8 children. So I buy stocking caps and mittens, dinosaurs and thrift store collector dolls, and then I go to the dollar store and buy bags and paper to stuff them all in. That’s the biggest single expense. Anyway, I just wanted to send you season’s greetings and all that – and a big hug for your universal spirit of honesty and fun. Heywood
